Marketing Ideas

I'm a concept person; not an action person. When it comes to marketing, I may have the creative and often times the radical idea of how to market or promote a product or service. But, when it comes to implementation, somebody has to do it for me especially if involves leg work and lip work. I can hardly convince a person. I'm not a sales talker, in fact, I hate the stuff. When somebody sales talk me, I feel my time is wasted. I prefer that he talks to me straightforward and direct to the point. No lies. Just plain and simple truth.

Multi-level marketing is a system that I am not a fan of. I do not like the idea of a person getting rich doing nothing. It is the hard work of his recruits that make him rich. But believe it or not, I have attended a dozen multi-level marketing seminars since 1996. Out of courtesy, of course, to those who invited me. First, I would try their products. If their good, I would sign up just so I can avail myself of the products at discounted prices. Other than that, I do nothing at all. I don't recruit.

I only signed up for the very first one and the last one I attended. The first one offered Isho Genki squalene, which I find it beneficial to health; and the second, which is the latest one, offers Alive! Mega-Nutritionals. I signed up for this because I love the product. This is one good anti-oxidant. Good for nocturnal workers like me. If you want to know more about this, visit Feed Ur Body.

If you're interested in the product, email me or leave a message at +63927-2524652. If you're interested to join the company as multi-level marketer, I will refer you to the person who can explain it well to you.

Automating Your Business

Your company can be more efficient if your business operations are automated. Full automation, however, is expensive. You will need to invest millions of pesos or dollars. But that shouldn't hinder you from automating you business. You can do it one step at a time. It can start with your own department. Are you receiving your reports today when you need them yesterday? Automation can help. Is there a voluminous task in your department that you would require your staff to work overtime? Time to automate. Do you have a routine work that is so tedious to accomplish? Maybe, automation is the answer. If you're having these problems, contact your programmer. He may be able to help. If none is available, consult me. I may be able to help.

Side notesDid you know that "routinary" cannot be found in the dictionary? Why? Because there is not such a word. The correct word is "routine". So, if you're used to saying "routinary", time to change. Say "routine" instead.

Graphic Design

For your graphic design needs like logos, brochures, fliers, pamphlets, booklets, newsletter, e-zine, magazines, catalogs, banners (like tarpauline), posters, CD covers, photo albums (like wedding albums), business cards, silk-screen design, invitations, and other marketing collaterals, I may be able to help as well.

I can also do CD kiosks. A CD kiosk is a business or product presentation stored on a CD. For this purpose, I use Adobe Flash, the software that delivers interactive multimedia and animations. A CD kiosk is something you can distribute to your clients or customers or play repeatedly at your promotion booth.

For your other needs, I can do photo editing - restore an old photo, collage your photos, create group portrait out of individual photos, have a fantasy photo, retouch your photo like make you look younger and slimmer, be a cover of a magazine, pose with your favorite celebrity idol, etc.

Web Design

I also do web designs. But I yet have to learn how PHP works. That means, if your requirement needs programming and the use of database, I cannot help you at this point. I can do, however, static web sites or what others call brochure-type web sites. I can also do Flash sites, the one that is like a movie where what you see is animated.

For budget-constrained requirements, I would recommend blogs. Blogs are web sites too. They are interactive and always current; less formal as well and easy to maintain. This blog is an example. It's free. Powered by Google's Blogger. So, what I can do is either to train you on how to make one and use it; or, I can do it for you and then teach you later on how to maintain it.

If, however, you want your own domain name, you can register one. For your domain and web hosting requirements, I usually recommend philhosting  dot net. So far, this is the provider I find to have the most affordable prices.

Accounting Automation

Aside from the payroll program that I sell, I also do consulting. By profession, I am a private accountant. I've had years of accounting jobs that at this point I no longer want to do bookkeeping or the tedious and nitty gritty part of accounting. I'm done with the routine accounting deadlines. At this point, I prefer a less stressful kind of job.

When I was working as an accountant, I was able to use my programming skills to facilitate and speed up my job. I had to automate everything because I easily got bored of so many paper works and volumes of calculations. I wanted my work a lot easier. Why suffer the pain of manual accounting when I can just click to post and prepare the financial statements.

So, what I do now is to encourage small businesses to automate their accounting system. There are many accounting software available in the market like MYOB , Simply Accounting , and Peachtree . Among the three, I usually recommend MYOB. I'm satisfied with its features and its data security. But I won't recommend it in a network environment for the reason that it uses the file-sharing technology of Windows. If a number of users are already working on the same data file, the systems slows down. Another thing is that you will need to get an authorization number (company code) from MYOB, which is a hustle, each time there is a network error. The company code is something that you cannot get everyday. There is a limit of times depending on your product license.

To develop an accounting system will take years, so I'm not ambitioning that. MYOB, Simply Accounting, or Peachtree will work well. Upon installation, which takes a few minutes, you can implement it at once. Compared to a customized accounting system, it will takes years before you can implement it; plus the fact, that it is more expensive. So, implementing these over-the-counter accounting systems to your businesses is a wise decision. It's economical and more satisfactory because you see results at once.

My services include installation and setup of the software, training, and assistance to the migration process. In the training, we'll go live at once. We'll use your real data because that's part of the migration process.

the New Payroll

I started developing my payroll in 2000. I used Visual Basic for Applications to develop the program and Microsoft Access as my back-end database. Since 2000, my payroll has evolved into four versions. My latest edition is the fourth version which is more flexible than the previous versions.

The very first edition was customized for a fastfood business. The company is still using it until now. That time I still had no knowledge of Visual Basic, so I only used macros. It was still crude but still usable. In fact, the company has purchased 15 more copies for 15 more fastfood restaurants.

The second version was for a general business. That time, I already applied Visual Basic so as to make my payroll program more efficient and faster. This version, however, required a procedure that is unique to the company. For that reason, I could not sell it to other companies. So, I developed a third version.

The third edition was more flexible. It included processing of time data based on proximity timekeeping. I made this version more flexible so that it can fit any type of business.

I'm currently revising my payroll today to accommodate the recent changes in revenue taxation. This version is now my fourth edition.
